Let's rewind the clock back to 2018.

We’re in Bali. It’s hot. The air is thick and we're in our first Zero Waste Cartel meeting.

It's Harriet, Scott and myself (David).

None of us know what we're doing but there’s a big quote on the whiteboard:

I'd read this quote before and enjoyed it.

It makes you feel a sense of empowerment. It reminds you that you have a choice in what you buy, who you buy from, or if you even need the thing at all.

But in Bali something weird happened.

Reading those words on the whiteboard made me feel uncomfortable.

A huge responsibility had revealed itself. We were about to be on the other side of the quote.

Which meant that by starting a company we were asking you to vote for us.

The audacity...

And so during that first meeting in Bali, all the way back in 2018, you were the topic of discussion.

We tried to understand what world you wanted to vote for, and if we could live up to the expectations.

As our discussion progressed, the pressure eased.

The idea of meeting your expectations (the world's most conscious consumers) became exciting.

Because we realised that you want what we want.

Responsible decisions. Fair treatment for everyone. As little waste as possible. High quality manufacturing. Transparency. No animal testing or cruelty. All natural ingredients. Up-cycled materials. Locally sourced where possible. Sustainable packaging. And those feel goods you only get when you're using a product you love.

Our mission is to make your vote as impactful as possible.

To do this we must first live up to the expectations set above.

Second, we must do our best to create a more positive impact.

That's why we've been planting trees since our first order back in 2018. 

So far, with the support of our community we've planted 70,000 trees through our charity initiatives.
